Going to Rugged Maniac? Get Prepared at Wild Blue!

We know there is a ton of preparation going on if you are gearing up to compete in Charleston’s 2016 Rugged Maniac Obstacle Race at Boone Hall Plantation.

Obstacle races like the Rugged Maniac, Tough Mudder, or Spartan Race are all purposefully designed to provide a serious challenge to everyone who enters the competition.

So how do you best get your body, mind, and spirit ready for an adventure race? We suggest switching up your workout program to focus on challenge elements that work on the same muscle groups that you will be using during the race. So get off the treadmill and come try some new challenges 35 feet up in the air on 72 suspended obstacles; it’s one of the fastest ways to see results. You will not necessarily encounter these particular hurdles in your gym or at your CrossFit training.

Extraordinary training for an extraordinary race

Obstacle racing involves a balance of speed, strength & endurance – so training needs to go beyond more traditional fitness approaches. Much like these races, Wild Blue Ropes is about getting out of your comfort zone and challenging yourself. The sense of accomplishment you feel when you have finished will inspire you to try other challenges in life.
